That article sounds promising. I like this universe they’re crafting, I just wish the second Batman film hadn’t been delayed.

I'm more excited for this than I was with Superman or Supergirl. A full-blown horror film is something we haven't seen in the comic book genre. Gunn confirmed it'll be Rated R. Looking forward to this one.

I think this is in the DCU, not in the "The Batman" universe.

From the Daily Mail link in the article:

Clayface is expected to fall within the same universe as 2022 blockbuster The Batman, in which Robert Pattinson played the Caped Crusader. An outlandish early synopsis describes the forthcoming film as a body horror about a promising actor who goes to extraordinary lengths to modify himself after his face is horribly disfigured by a brutal gangster.

Daily mail is wrong. Gunn has already said this is part of his DCU

Weird. That universe doesn’t seem like one for an R-rated film. They’re already laying the foundation for their Batman?

Yeah, I’ve listened to him on podcasts etc and he wants to be able to tell stories in all sorts of tones
Idk how they would get that wrong, but this is definitely the DCU. Clayface is featured in Creature Commandos (DCU) also.

I thought they were building out the larger “The Batman” universe for this to lead into The Batman 2. I was totally wrong
thanks for everyone clearing that up.

Peacemaker is in the DCU.

Interesting that Arkham is smack in the middle of a major thoroughfare into the city

quote:Mooney Bridge is named after artist Jim Mooney, who was known more for drawing Supergirl and Spider-Man than for his credited work on Batman.
Map of the DCU Gotham
But it turns out that Mooney was one of the ghost artists that Bob Kane was employing in the 40's and 50's to draw Batman stories as "Bob Kane". Kudos to Nolan and Reeves for keeping his name alive.

You clearly haven't watched Peacemkaker S2.

Separate universes is dumb. Just fold The Batman into the universe. You don’t even need the main characters to cross over anytime soon.

Damn, I wish Flanagan could have directed this...

Yeah, that's a bummer. Would've loved to see him direct this
