The glass is just clear tempered glass. One big non divided piece. The doors are from 1976 and solid wood, so i don’t want to replace them even though our Great Dane has gouged them and broken the glass in one.
Now that our dog is older - a trained calmer idiot, not just a plain idiot, I’m ready to fix the the doors. I’m thinking sanding, some compound, a good sanding and a quality oil based primer and paint will make the wood look nice and smooth again. (And of course new glass and probably trim around the glass.)
I’m having trouble finding someone to replace the glass. It seems they all only do door and window replacement and shower installations. Guess my job is too small?? Any recommendations?
Here’s what it looked like before we got Jupiter.
Here’s what it looked like after he scratched up the outside (but b4 he broke the glass)
Here’s what it looks like now on the inside now that he’s broken the glass
I’m guessing the trim needs replacing, so will i need a carpenter too or will the glass guy handle that?
Does the door need to come down and go to a glass shop, or can they replace it at the house? I don’t mind taking it to them once the weather cools.
Thx!

T&L Forestry in Industriplex may be able to fix that - they build doors and windows and use Spanish Cedar a good bit. You likely would have to bring the door to them for them to fix. Call them and send them pics and Bao over there will let you know if they can fix.

T and l definitely could fix. And probably clean it up. It’s hard to see but is that a full glass insert.

If in New Orleans, Stromeyer glass. They might even travel outside city limits. This is right up their alley.
