How much did that thing weigh?

I had the 36" version but sold it in 2011 like a dummy. Anyhow, that was a great TV but it probably weighed close to 100lbs. It felt like it, anyway. Today's TV technologies would crush the picture on that thing but in 2006, only plasma TVs had a better picture than the FD Trinitron Wega. If you remember, early LCD TVs were putrid. Anyhow, thanks for the walk down memory lane. Good times.

The 40" Mitsubishi I installed repeatedly in the 90s weighed 300lbs.
I once had to put one on top of a kitchen cabinet, and the other guy was probably 5'11" 155.
ETA: I'd bet a full paycheck from that period of time that TV ended up in the floor on the kitchen after it broke through the crown molding on the cabinets (she asked us to lean it forward a bit so she could see it from the ground.)

Heavy as hell. Very bulky . Took two of us to carry it to the truck.
It was a great TV. top of the line. Just doesn't have that Alphabet resolution nor an HDMI cable. If you want to run a dvd player, have to use those old tri color cables.
Great tv. Just obsolete.

There is a whole cult of CRT people on FB

That's b/c certain things like old video games look better on a CRT than on a modern TV.

So that's why they are going for $200 or so.

Zero latency and way better motion resolution. It's sad that alot of kids today playing SNES emulators think that sloppy laggy control scheme is how it's supposed to feel.
If i had space i'd get another crt projector to game on.

I used a 1976 Sears black and white TV in my garage until 2022. 46 years!
I replaced it with a 13" Phillip / Magnavox color model from the mid 1990's.
