How would you feel about our defense going into this game if

we returned every single starter from last years defense and did not add but 1 or 2 from the portal? Pretty much what Clemson is doing, yet they are basically the second coming of the Steel Curtain????

More than that. But I agree in principle (especially with the additions in the defensive backfield). I am confident that Clemson's offense is going to struggle against this defense.

I think they literally added two players from the portal. A new DC can’t make that fast a difference

You can't talk about Clemson's defense from 2024 to 2025 without mentioning Tom Allen. It's a big upgrade at the DC position for them.

the same 4 that allowed more yards per game than LSU did last year? My point is they were worse than we were last year and played less competition. They should improve a lot, but going from 70th ranked to "ELITE" in a season is absurd

Our defense didnt have a de, dt, cb with 1st round grades last year.
We had sage mother f'n ryan, major runs burns, and Greg nuh uh not today penn. I'd assume we lose by 2 tds smooth if we had the holy trinity back.
Our portal adds seem to be amazing. Let's see how they play with the studs returning.

Well to be fair. We didn't have people on the defense last year that people were projecting to be first round picks. So its not an apples to apples comparison.
