My cousin has a son who is 12 years old, in the seventh grade, and St. Augustine in New Orleans has given him a scholarship to go to the school to play ball there. He is on the freshmen team at the school b/c he's too young right now to play with the varsity. I know he plays AAU, but I'm not sure with what squad though.

The dude is already at 6'7" and he's only 12 years old. Next year, I will start accompanying his dad to all his games and start being a silent recruiter for LSU for the next five years I go watch him play.

Happy for you but i find this thread a little weird this close to NSD. I cant get excited for something that is 5 years away, especially with the world ending in 2012.

Maybe he could be the next great one to leave the state to play elsewhere!

If he's white he'll go to Duke and be the next Zoubek.

If he's black he'll go to Georgetown.

There's bullshite written all over this post.

You can't give out athletic scholarships in high school. That would be illegal.

Private schools give out schollie's all the time. If you don't think they do you are just ignorant.

That goes to show you that you don't know shite about high school athletics. How do you think John Curtis keep their powerhouse status year in and year out??? The dish out scholarships to people like Joe Mcknight to come play ball at their school.

Well, scratch the Tigahs off the prospective schools list.

Is that Eugene Edgerson? I watched him dominate Lester Earl in the '95? LHSAA Semis.

I actually played against Earl that year when I was in high school. I scored like 15 points that game. I remember b/c the coach made me come off the bench that game for punishment for not being on time for practice. Earl wasn't even their best player that year IMO. Glen Oaks had a SG that was awesome. They beat us by like 6 or 7 pts. It was Hammond vs Glen Oaks back in 1995....both teams were top 10 when we played each other back then. I think I still have newspaper articles at my mom's crib of the big games like that.
