Roof cleaning, opinions wanted

I have a 10 year old home, the dormers on front had gotten quite mildewed so I got my arse up on a 20 foot ladder and got them all cleaned up. They look really good. Problem is, the cleaning solution ran down the shingles under the dormer and I now have two patches of beautiful shingle, with all the black cleaned off of em. I have two choices, ignore it, or get the rest of roof cleaned to match
Ms. Foot is wanting whole roof cleaned, and I tend to agree with her that it would look so much better. My question is does anyone have any experience with this, and do the products use harm the roof at all? I know they will say they are safe, just curious if anyone has experience. My home faces North, the north and west sides are filthy, the south slope has no need for cleaning, it looks new. East has a little grime.

I had my shingles "soft washed" a few years back.
They were almost black from algae. Afterwards they were back to gray and looked new.
It was a night and day difference. I would do it again.

I've done it myself for my own houses but my DIY method might be a bit more involved than you'd want to take on. I used an oxygen bleach solution sprayed on then rinsed off, very easy on the roof and effective.

Roof washing sucks for whoever will have to climb it later in its life

Stop bleaching shingles. Bye, bye warranty. I guess if you don’t care but it’s also makes the shingles brittle. Heard many of those “soft wash” guys lie straight to your face and say that it won’t void your warranty

I built a spraying unit out of a cheap Rubbermaid trashcan, a 60 psi transfer pump, and some plumbing fittings. I just mixed up a trashcan full of solution and sprayed it from the ground.
Also, oxygen bleach is perfectly safe for all roof types, it's not like chlorine bleach. More like peroxide, really removes the mildew stains but doesn't hurt aluminum gutters or much else.

Will cause granular loss and if they don’t know what they are doing there’s a chance it will kill landscaping, grass, etc
