Any close rigs that hold mangrove or cobia?

Going down next weekend!

Not really. They have some past Chandeleur but not really “close”. You can try shipping lane buoys in deeper water past the islands for cobia. May want to check online for some state reef numbers as those will likely be more accessible than rigs.

Any trout reports at chandeleur islands?

Coni and snapper at the rigs outside chandy. As far as trout reports, the guide always do well. The islands are hard to dial into if you only have a day. There’s a ton of terrain: you could drift around grass flats, fish the washouts on the beach, walk the flats and cast…

I always get reminded that I’m a shitty fisherman when I go out there for a morning without any intel. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

Live shrimp or croakers under cork in flats on SE flats of Cat, glass minnows in flats over pirates cove or go to Louisiana marsh for trout

We're heading over Friday morning with plans to fish all weekend. Hoping to catch a few.

Last year we had some luck fishing the Wolf River coastal area for reds and the artificial reef out the mouth of the bay. Was a mixed bag however, inconsistent and varied.

MS sound reefs
I would take a look at this and hit a few close by your area. Worth a shot no experience myself but hoping to get out there next summer after my boat is built. Currently building a 17’ stitch and glue skiff.
