ok, while i'm using the computer, it will kind of not allow anything to be used, and i have to alt, ctrl, del to get task manager, which will then get the memory usage from 100% back down.

when it happens later, same thing with getting task manager up, then memory clears.

is it the memory, or actual cpu?

How much ram do you have in the machine? What is using all the Ram? Should show you in the task manager.

Scanned it for virus/malware yet? Check add/remove programs to see if any nag/bloatware was accidentally installed

Not memory integrity issue or you get blue screen. Beyond that, could be anything.

Well, not really, it's Firefox, the plugins he installed, or the sites he's browsing.

Assuming Windows11, stop starting apps via a browser. Open the app directly from it's icon. In my problem I was opening my email via Edge at www.Outlook.com and the email app was progressively buggier and memory hungry. Browsers can bring a lot of default and cached baggage into play.

usually, when it locks, and i do alt, ctrl, del; to get task manager, A game which is a memory eater, and fire fox are open

ill have the game at max settings for players, and it is a memory hog when its thinking and doing data updates to players and such.

game recommends 150K player database, i have it at 450K.

So ill have to try a game with only 50-60K players in database.

I'm just confused nobody has mentioned CTRL-Shift-ESC at this point.

And just for you, JRN, the AM5 with 128GB of RAM I clearly don't need is getting installed in the next ten days.
