All the talk about how bad LSU is at season openers. Let’s take a look at Clemson’s past 2 season openers:
Clemson vs UGA: Loss 34-3
Clemson vs DUKE: Loss 28-7
Also was 0-3 against the SEC last year.
Gimme LSU.

Yeah, fans are mad there, as well. They want to play a team that has a bad track record in openers like LSU.

Clemson's conference allows for them to lose those games and still make the playoff. We don't have that luxury.

Final score last year vs Georgia a tad misleading. Game was 6-3 in the 3rd quarter I think

It's a big breakthrough game for whoever wins it. So much on the line - more so for us. Clemson still likely reaches playoff without winning Game 1.

Honestly UGA is another team that is a mystery. They were not dominant last season, but had the 2 wins vs Texas. They also beat UK by 1, los to Bama, lost to Ole Miss 28-10 and had an 8 OT game with GA Tech.
Now they break in a new QB this season.
The SEC should be wide open this season. Just depends on which team gets hot and manages to avoid major blunders.

Really don't see Gunner being the answer in Athens but they always have a very talented roster so he might be just what they need.
