Brick Painting w/o Sprayer

Considering painting my brick home this fall and looking for any tips. The mortar is nearly level with the bricks so it seems to me like rolling it shouldn’t be difficult. I know prep is key and I’ll be pressure washing prior to painting.
For those who have DIY, what suggestions do you have? TIA

A long nap roller comes to mind.
You are right that prep is key. I would check with Sherwin Williams or Ben Moore for guidance and product.

I wouldn't pressure wash it. Spray it with an outdoor cleaner that can be used on brick/masonry, then rinse it good. That should be plenty. Pressure washing on some of the lower PSI electrical ones would be fine, but I wouldn't hit it with a gas powered one.

You can pressure wash the brick with no issues if you're smart about it. A soap tip doesn't put out that much psi. Use a wider fan (40 degree) tip to rinse. Prep is the key.
There's no reason to use a zero degree tip on brick, and that's where people go wrong.
How old is the brick? Smooth or rough-face?
I would prime newer brick (less than 5 years), with an SW Loxon product and finish with 2 coats of a high-quality 100% acrylic latex, but older brick does really well with just 2 coats of paint.
My in-laws house was painted with 2 coats of SW Superpaint 20+ years ago, and it's held up great with only periodic washing.

I actually prefer no sprayer on brick, spot on with:
Keep a hefty brush handy for any deep pockets.

I used a roller and huge brush when I lime washed my back porch. It was a BITCH!
I am trying to hire someone to do the rest of the house.

20 years old, fairly rough I would say. Yeah I was hoping to get away with no primer.

Doesn't painting brick cause it to deteriorate?

20 years old, you should be fine with no primer. Just make sure it's clean. Fill any voids in the mortar after you clean and 2 coats of paint.
