No lineup since it’s the same as always and I don’t feel like looking up the graphic on my phone. If anyone cared the thread would’ve been made before the 3rd inning

Thanks baw.
The white Sox have been one of the hottest offenses in baseball. Hurston keeping them scoreless through 4 is impressive
4 IP 2 H 1 BB 4 SO
Now 6 IP 4 H 1 B 6 SO no runs allowed. This kid is killing it

Waldrep completely turning it around is pretty awesome, hope he can keep it going into next year.
On the flip side, I hope Collins for the Brewers continues being cold, because we aren't getting many ABs for Drake (or letting him get into a groove) giving Ozuna all the starts at DH for the most part.

Idk if this isnt something that everyone knows already but to me its all down to his control getting immensely better. He is not walking many people and is able to put that devastating splitter where it needs to be as a put away pitch

Funny as hell when Frenchy asked Galvine if he needed a replica of the 1995 WS ring.

7 scoreless for Hurston. Best pitcher in the organization at the moment

How the frick were we trotting Elder out every 5th game when Waldrep was sitting in AAA?

Idk man. Im not sure what value Elder has past this year.
Maybe if he would be willing to add another pitch he could be somewhat effective and cheap at long relief/swing role type

This team is on its best run of the season.
The outfield of Acuna, Harris, Profar probably the best in MLB.
All Hurston does is dominate, win games.
Raisel slamming the door completely shut lately.
And the lil SS gotta be one of the best defensive infielders in the game.
It took awhile but this is a fun product to watch.

Waldrep is so good he gets wins in games where we get 4 hits and only score 1 un earned run

Mostly this, but he switched from throwing 4 seam fastballs to primarily 2 seamers, so he's throwing cutters and sinkers primarily for his fastball now. That plus some mechanical adjustments have led to his better control. Which has in turn allowed him to actually use his splitter.

Waldrep really didn't turn things around until a few starts before he was called up. Apparently Sean Murphy was responsible for Waldrep learning to throw a sinker, as he suggested it during a rehab assignment earlier in the year.

If tweet fails to load, click here. It never made sense that we have Riley the big contract when we did, but man has that backfired big time. He has been meh at the plate since the day he signed the extension and has been injured a lot

Yeah a lot of those early signings were really really good like Acuna, Ozzie, and very likely Harris but Striders and Rileys are looking bad.
I still think Riley could work his way back. Strider might be done

I was fine with Harris and even Strider because we didn't really pay much AAV for either of them.
Riley on the other hand, we gave him the largest contract in franchise history when he still had arb year's left.
Unless they really projected him to be one of the best players in baseball by this point, it was never going to be a contract that saved us money by taking out his arb years.

I think it was just AA getting cute and high on his own farts a little bit tbh. What year did we give him the deal wasnt it right after we won the world series?

Yeah, that signing and the length of the Olson extension both seemed like knee jerk reactions due to the heat AA was taking due to letting Freddie walk. That's been my major issue with AA, he either seems to have no plan at all and do nothing, or massively overreact to things.
The Strider extension was dumb to me at the time just due to us not really getting anything much out of it. We took all the risk and only got one option year that wasn't even a bargain. We basically payed out the arse for his arbitration years for nothing.
Harris was actually a good move due to it being a bargain if it worked out.
