IF $200+ for a 'crab dinner' is in your wheel-house...yes, it is...lol

It's king crab so those prices aren't really ridiculous.

Eh, we can agree to disagree. You can go to Maine and generally buy lobster for 50% of the cost of anywhere else. You go to Alaska and crab is more expensive than you can find it ordered to your home. That restaurant is $85/ lb according to their online menu. $256 for 3 lbs. I know it’s Alaska blah blah everything is expensive in Alaska blah blah. Sure I guess
ETA: I also don’t quite understand what happened to the king crab fishery. I guess overfished? It used to be around 150% the price of snow crab, I can still find snow crab for $10/ lb occasionally. Let’s say with inflation and what not king crab should be at $30/ lb.
$85 lb? That’s nuts

You could also find King on some of the casino buffets. I haven't seen it in years.

King crab did get overfished and the quotas were severely reduced for several years.
However, if you can find it there is south American (Argentinian) king crab and it is much less expensive and just as delicious.

There are no King Crab processing plants in Alaska.
They get shipped to the mainland for processing and then get shipped back.
It's bizarre.
I can get King Crab cheaper here in Texas than I did the two times I visited Anchorage.
