Is LSU-Arizona State 2005 the most insane LSU football game no one talks about?

I forgot how it even crossed my mind to rewatch, but holy hell what a fricking game. I was young baw and remember going insane but a blocked punt AND kick for a TD AND a last minute game winning 4th fown throw? Holy shite

For me The nail-biter of 1977 between LSU vs Rice is not discussed enough

I actually forgot about that. Nevermind Les Miles' Moogatu style headset.

Legit an LSU alum that has hardly ever talked about this game in 15 years. I guess Les really numbed us to insane outcomes.

We still didn't have power or cable TV so I listened to this game on the radio. It was wild.

Great video, I didn't remember both blocks for TD's. Also, that game winning TD pass most likely gets overturned with replay today.

I was up in Baltimore evacuated to my grandparent's house. It was the one good thing going for us at the time.

Steltz, Addai, Doucet... so many names in that video that I haven't heard in a long time

I genuinely did not consider that maybe even being a trauma-based reason to not mention. I was outside of Shreveport and still have lifelong friends that were katrina transplants.

I guess it's strange because people mention the 2005 Tennessee debacle so much more than this ridiculous game

I have a pic of Doucet holding my kid when he was a baby. Now he's bigger than ED... I should see if I can track him down and get him to recreate the pic now

JaMarcus with just a flick of the wrist threw a frozen rope just about 50 yards while on the move.

This game was very memorable. Watching the video you posted, what sticks out to me is that touchdown pass to Doucet would most likely not be considered a catch by today’s rules. As soon as he hit the ground it popped out. I never noticed that before. And it was on 4th down.

So in today's world with review, would Doucet's game winning TD catch be overturned?

The ball came out when he hit the ground and he didn't have the purest control of it when he was up. Definitely not ruled a catch now.

Do you remember that the game was moved due to Katrina and ASU painted the field for LSU and also raised money for Katrina victims?

Ground could not cause a fumble right, that used to be the rule.. and if they had control prior to ground they didn’t have to maintain it
