yeah Will is who i meant. He didnt pitch him until he was almost gone. Now he is a very good pitching prospect in the Rockies system.
though Clay and Will both could have been very good 2 way players. Though Will never really found it with the bat. I know both did a little 2 way here and there, but i think both should have pitched more.

quote:I agree with you. Will never really found any sort of groove at the plate and Smoke should have pitched him earlier. His success the last few weeks of his senior year and at the next level beg the question, why wasn't he given a chance? It is not like we had a deep pitching staff. I think he put up some really good numbers last year. As far as playing both ways goes, Skip had even less tolerance for it than Smoke. I can't say for certain that it is true, but the word at the time was that we lost several great players to other schools because Skip told them up front that they couldn't pitch and play the field. ( Brian Weise and Michael Aubrey were rumored to have wanted to come to LSU, but went to MSU and Tulane, respectively, because of this.)

Will for sure. He had a dominating slider and a very good fastball. I was amazed at how well he pitched given that he wasn't given an opportunity until his last year.
