Maybe ima retard, but who?

Why isn’t Eli White playing? Also idk if it’s just coincidence but Harris at 5 has been pretty cool, he’s been crushing it there. Unfortunately there’s literally no protection for him since 6-9 in our lineup is essentially a black hole currently

Picked him up off of waivers last week.

I'd rather Eli play too but I'm not opposed to tanking if it means we get the #1 pick.

I'd be okay with shutting down Strider too and give him a head start on the off season so hopefully his velocity gets back up.

Yea striders velocity has been a bit worrisome. It’s not odd or out of place for it to take time to fully recover after the type of injury he had, and for a bit he had games where he could sit at 95 for a while but it seems like recently he’s been sitting more at 93 or 94. Maybe I’m imagining this though

You're not imagining it.

Searched an article about it and got an AI result saying 4 seamer had fell from 98.1 mph in 2023 to 95.5 mph in 2025 and slider velo fell from 85.6 mph in 2023 to 83.6 mph in 2025.

I felt like there was less movement on his fastball and there was a substack article confirming that. His fastball’s active spin percentage has also decreased from 97.2% to 96%, and its induced vertical break has fallen from 18.4 inches to 17.6 inches, altering its movement profile.

Maybe that’s why it seems like strider has been getting lit up more on his fastball this year anecdotally to me anyway.

I don’t think it’s a surprise his best starts have been the ones where he could locate his slider the best and his struggles have come more when he couldn’t or didn’t use it as much.

I also think I read somewhere the other day his other pitch mixes have gone way way down this year making him essentially a two pitch pitcher currently

On Tuesday, FanSided's Christopher Kline predicted that the Braves would waive Iglesias, sending the 35-year-old to a new destination by the start of September.

Saves us 5 million and lets him maybe sign with a contender. I still don’t understand why not trade him? The return probably wouldn’t have been great but it’s better than nothing.

A few of the teams best relievers are still in AAA probably, which this maybe gives us a chance to see what they can do. Although I imagine they haven’t been called up to manipulate service time so idk if they’d change that now

Braves have an opportunity to get right and win some games at the expense of the Hapless Mutts.

We should just shut him down for the season. It’s a lost season anyway.

Not trading him and Ozuna was pure idiocy, even if you only get some scrub prospects, it's better than nothing.

Yeah, Strider is just as bad as very other AAA pitcher we've been trotting out there.

Terrorism slump buster of the century though: New York City.

I’ve seen some braves podcasters begin to advocate for bringing back ozuna if it’s a really team friendly deal since he is hitting better.

Talk about idiocy. I don’t care if it’s the most team friendly deal in history. This team with its injury problems all over the place and our best player already having torn his acl twice cannot move forward without a fluid DH position. Someone who has so bad fielding value they cannot be put in on defense just can’t be an option for the way this team is constructed

I think they're going to try and bring back Ozuna and Iglesias on cheap deals. That's the best explanation as to why they didn't trade either of them.

I’m very much against this. Especially in the case of Ozuna, not because he is bad per se, but being unable to DH Ronald or one of Murphy/Baldwin assuming we don’t trade one of them makes him not viable imo
