Outside of the Lakes, anyone have any spots they recommend taking a kid for some afternoon fishing?

I don’t have a boat. This is just to go get a pole in the water and spend some time together. I was also thinking Burbank soccer fields, but I’ve never seen anyone catch anything there.

Didn’t they build a pond with amenities for kids to fish on flannery road ?
I believe it’s just north of goodwood. It was on the news a few years ago, had a kids fishing outing or something.

That would be Waddill Wildlife Refuge on Flannery between Choctaw and Greenwell Springs.
It has a ton of activities for kids.

That map was a great reminder of the fact that this is a VERY popular message board and that a lot of people lurk without posting. A whole bunch. The active posters represent a small fraction of the total views.
