My daughter drives a small car. I want her to have a very stable car jack to keep in her car. I want one that won’t collapse if she ever needs to use it. It needs to be not made in China, easy to use and safe. Recommendations are appreciated.

Going to be very difficult to find one not made in China. These are very well made. No country listed though.

There is not a 100% collapse proof jack out there. They all can fail for a variety of reasons, teach her how to jack a car safely or get her a AAA membership or similar.

I'm a grown man over 40. I have trouble removing the air hammered on lug nuts on most cars with a factory provided lug wrench. Get her a breaker bar & socket to go with the new car jack.

Thank you! I am also looking at portable low profile 2 ton floor jacks with a case.

Try Harbor Freight (website search) for a low profile floor jack. They also have breaker bars and sockets. I have a 25” 1/2”-drive breaker I use for high torque situations.

I think it will be hard to find a portable that isn't unfortunately.

Without a known hard, flat surface, I don’t think portable and stable exists. China makes better stuff than we do now. Build a block, groove it to fit vehicle.

A torque multiplier wrench might be better than a breaker bar set up. You will have to teach her how to properly use any of these things as well.

Torque multiplier wrench example

Probably all made in China as well though.

ETA: I just carry a battery powered 1/2 impact with the proper size sockets with me these days. You just have to remember to charge it every once in a while.

1.5 ton aluminum race jack from HF and a breaker bar/socket that fits her lugs. That's what I keep in the trunk of my Corolla.

Lots of good advice already posted. Personally, I'd stick with the OEM jack since it will fit the jack points and stows "easily". To improve stability of what she has, get 3 wheel chocks.

If you go with a bottle jack, I find they can leak at the fill hole when stored horizontally... be watchful and keep hole on top.

Definitely get a jack pad that fits over pinch welds as well.

I got a pair of Torin 1.5T scissor jacks to add to the OEM scissor jacks for my vehicles, cheap but no oil to leak.
