Toy hauler Q

Can the toy hauler toy fuel tank have an extended hose added to fill up the tow vehicle or is there laws/conventional wisdom against this? Asking for a 7.3 (gasser)

I don’t see why not as long as you can store the hose.
I have never actually used the fuel cell on my toy hauler

I'd imagine that as long as the tank was original equipment on the trailer and was designed for transporting gasoline, you're PROBABLY ok. The issue is how you are transporting the gas, not what you use it for. So, if you can do it legally right now, adding a pump and a hose shouldn't affect that.
I know there are some strict rules about hauling gasoline - I know you can't just buy a bed mount fuel tank and start hauling around 100 gallons of gas in it legally.

If his is like mine it already has an explosion proof pump with gas station style shut off nozzle think mine has a 30 gallon fuel cell and a 10 foot hose

Trying to avoid the potential 270 mile range I'm looking at. I haven't towed heavy with the 7.3 other than taking about a 19k load to the auction last fall and a nearly full tank registered 188 miles to E. The replacement tank for the truck is 2700$ I'm actually shopping the toy haulers now so the tank/pump setup is on my checklist. I'm looking to keep trailer base weight to 10500.

You really need the CCLB with the 55 gallon tank to have any range when you're going to pull heavy like that. The toy hauler might well be worse on fuel at speed than the 19k load was depending on how aerodynamic it was.
If it makes you feel better, my 2018 diesel with just 10k lbs of enclosed trailer behind it gets about 10.5 mpg at 70mph...
But regardless, if your trailer already has a tank and a pump and a hose that's all intended for transporting gasoline I would absolutely stick a longer hose on it and use it for the truck.
Full disclosure - I am not a lawyer and since we're talking about you doing it and not me, you getting busted aint my problem .

So much for printing this thread and throwing it in the glovebox.
The 07 ram 6.7 would do 11.8 with our 8500 (loaded) converted horse trailer going uphill to colorado and as much as 14.5 on the way back. I'm going to miss the engine brake walking the rig down the passes.

Typically the fuel stations are on the rear of the toy hauler since that's where the available space is under the belly. Thats going to be a looong hose to span the entire length of the camper and half a truck. Not saying it wouldn't work, just that it would be a PITA to store that length of hose some how

One more thing to note is the transfer pumps aren't speed demons, at least mine isn't, and has a five minute runtime before you have to go turn it back on again

You're probably right. I guess I'll see if the Truck can be jack knifed enough to make it work. The fuel door is only about a foot ahead of the hitch location so that's even doubtful.
