Cautiously optimistic for this upcoming year. If the new pieces gel quickly this could easily become one for the history books. Obviously the ideal scenario is an undefeated season capped off with the tigers being national champs but that seems ever more difficult in today’s CFB landscape. What’s the worst we could do record wise and still make the playoffs? It’s no secret that the fanbase’s tolerance for Brian Kelly is wearing thin and this is very much a make or break year in my opinion based on the talent we have and what will remain of it after this season. I feel like as long as we make it to the SEC championship game we should get in but there’s a multitude of ways that could break down based on how the rest of the conference performs. What say the rant? How many loses can we realistically afford and still have a shot at the title?

I want playoffs or a bowl game against Bryce Underwood and Michigan.

Or the playoffs with a healthy team against a Bryce Underwood-led Michigan.

That's what I want.

I don't think that's a fair approach to take since shitty coaches luck their way into talent all the time in CFB.

However, if Kelly doesn't make the playoffs this year, I don't think he deserves to have more chances to try at LSU.

Let’s say the extended 12 team Playoff existed every year he’s been here. If he doesn’t make it this year that means he’d be 0-4 making the 12 team playoff. That’s unacceptable at LSU

We were incredibly spoiled by Nick Saban and Les Miles.

A good friend of mine is a massive Michigan fan so personally I'd love an LSU vs Michigan matchup in a playoff game. The shite talking between us would be epic.

Ed O would have made the extended playoff twice. LSU should finish top 12 50-75% of the time

This isn't true but in a sense you're right.

If he can't make a 12 team playoff with this squad then what's the point of continuing to put faith in this guy?

I should be the top 12, period, regardless of conference “champs”. How many SEC teams will be ranked in the top 12? If it’s truly the top 12 it should not matter.

LSU always has a tough schedule. @ Clemson, @ Ole Miss, @ Alabama. Florida, South Carolina, and Texas A&M are going to be tough even at home.

Having Nussmeier back after a full season under his belt is huge. The WR transfers look capable and could do better at LSU than at their previous stops. The OL is very young. That will be key.

Last season saw LSU have a tough time with Florida, Alabama, TAMU, Ole Miss (win), South Carolina (win) and USC. The opposition this year is comparable.

3 losses max to make it, but likely no more than 2. I think they can make it, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they don't.

This is year 4 under Kelley , if they can’t make a 12 team playoff with the money he’s making , both Kelley and Woodward need their walking papers .

Nick, yes we were.

Miles aged all Tiger fans by at least 10 years.
