Thank you to whoever posted the DD for SHOP on the money board back in 2019-ish. Been a monster

100k posted FSLY and I made a small fortune on them. Glad I bailed its like 6 bucks a share now

I have made two and only two large size successful long term speculative investments in my life. SHOP at 39 and VITAX at 109. Those two are the reason I was able to retire. I’ve made money elsewhere but also lost plenty…
just goes to show you you only need a couple of big winners

Question for you Cgrande - you do your own research and due diligence? Or do you source it from somewhere else?
Posted on 8/6/25 at 8:44 pm to TigerHoosier
primarily internet research like everyone else. I’m done with it now though…have to take risk off from here on out. I got maybe 20 good years left I plan on spending not losing
I just got lucky on SHOP but I had owned it before and done well and I took a big swing when it cratered

within 5% of post-covid/pre split all time high.
one winner is enough if you pick the right one...SHOP is currently the only position in the green since purchase in my retail account but i'm up 360% on a large buy (60% of total cost basis)

My only regret was not being in a position to invest in Spotify when I was a customer of it since 2016.
I remember starting my first eCom store and thinking, this company makes what used to be so difficult, so easy. That should have been all the intel I needed.
I did well rolling an entire 401k from a first job over into FACEBOOK, but I should have rolled it into SHOPIFY.

When did you start buying? Ever sold any?
Posted on 10/3/25 at 9:00 pm to bayoubengals88
bought it at 39 after the post split crash and that was it, no more buys and no selling. In hindsight I should have been buying more but I was stupid and can’t seem to learn a lesson.
good job outta you on NBIS btw

nobody is talking about shopify so i'm gonna
ATH price in 2021 was 170 (split adjusted)
current price in 2025 is 170...a full roundtrip
2021 revenue 4.6B
2025 revenue 10.0B
2021 net income (3.4B loss)
2025 net income 2.3B
annual growth year over year steady at 30%, stock price is up 110% past six months. above 170 is "price discovery"

over 170 today, 177 is ATH.
almost a complete round trip from post Covid highs, while the company revenues have grown exponentially
remember when e-commerce was the runaway freight train? It’s only gotten bigger in the 3 years since then.

I'm only mad I didn't buy more. This board gave me this pick way back when and outside of covid it's been a rocket ship for me.

179.xx today for a new ATH
earnings on 11/4 (coincidentally my birthday)
oppenheimer raised price target this afternoon to 200, current price is above most/all analyst targets so expect more if this holds.

someone bought $63.6MM in 01/16/26 160 call options yesterday at $31 (20,000 contracts)
. anyone care to explain what the strategy is here?
BTW those contracts are selling today at 26.00

Yes. It is a long play that should give them time for a rebound should the report next week be poor. Their hope is for it to beat and pop.
Delta -.68 was most likely above the -.73 which means for every dollar the stock moves it equals roughly $.70.
That's deep ITM. It could also mean he sold calls against that position. The 190 strike was worth roughly $550 per sold call. That's 200 contracts at $550 each= $110K profit.
Should the stock move to 190, That would be $17x20000= $340K
$340K +$110K = $450K.
