Will be spending a fe days at a friends house just on the N Side of the Sanibel Causeway this December.
Will likely rent a boat for 1/2 day, plan to play golf one day and although the house will have a kitchen, we plan to go out for lunch or dinner each night while were there
I've identified a few good winter beaches to hang out on but don't plan on spending all day just sitting in the sand.
Any suggestions, recs for that area on basically anything (dining, nightlife, activities (land or water) would be appreciated.

Moved to Sanibel in 2020. Would still be there if not for Ian in 22. Still have a house there that I’m about start short term renting. But I digress.
You are probably staying close to Sanibel Harbor Marina. Grab a boat from there and head north up the Intracoastal. Can check out north cap, but will need to rent a golf cart hit hike from the marina to the beaches. Cool spot. Or you could go to Cabbage Key, great island bar/grill, with good vibes and decent food. Tortoises, a water tower, makes a nice day.
On Sanibel the food is hit or miss, but some spots we love are Doc Fords (Yucatán Shrimp FTW), Cielo (probably the best fine dining on island), Over Easy (breakfast lunch), and Gramma Dots (Marina fare). Also don’t sleep on the American Legion, deceptively good spot and great spot to hang with locals.
That’s a special area of the world. Hope to get back. Don’t forget Naples is right there as well. If there early December, they used to have a really great Christmas/Car show event downtown.

We were in Sanibel a year before Ian and loved it.
Will second Doc Fords and Cielo...and we also loved The Bubble Room (a bit kitschy, but fun). Not sure if The Bubble Room came back with the same energy, as I'm sure a lot of what made interesting was lost in the storm.
