Anyone played this? I started a campaign around release but stopped due to all the bugs. Just got back in with the recent DLC release. This is a masterpiece of a game in the 40k universe. The storytelling is great and the heavy bolters go BRRR

This game hit Game Pass recently, but there are so many Warhammer games out there that it's hard to know which one to jump in on.

What makes this one "a masterpiece of a game in the 40k universe?"

Is this the one you would recommend for a newcomer to Warhammer and to Warhammer video games?

For reference, these are the Warhammer games currently on Game Pass:

Rogue Trader
Space Marine 1 and 2
Darktide
Vermintide 2

I haven’t played it yet, but I’ve seen multiple 40k vets say it’s a great place to start. Tons of beginner-focussed tooltips and lore drops.

It's definitely on my wish list. I recently picked up a couple of 40k turn-based games, cheap. My new build can finally handle some of this stuff. Need BG3 and this one, maybe the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale period.

Solid game and story. If you’re a CRPG fan plus a warhammer fan it would be a sure recommend

The game does a great job of introducing you to the competing elements of the Imperium from Sisters of Battle to the Inquisition as well as alien species. The decision making too captures the feel of 40k where typical "modern" morality might leave you and your people open to corruption or being murdered by aliens.

Space Marine and Darktide are both great games too. Space Marine is a power fantasy action game. Darktide leans a bit more into the absurdity of the lore but is a fun team shooter.

Awesome. This sounds like exactly what I want as an entry into this lore. It's pretty overwhelming to look into so I felt kind of lost trying to figure it out. Thanks man.

Heads up, looks like this just went on 50% off sale on steam. Think I'm gonna have to pick it up.

Been playing for a couple days. Only in chapter 1 but I'm really enjoying the gameplay.
