It was said yesterday that a 1% reduction in rates would save the fed govt 350 billion dollars a year.

A simple .25 cut reduces Federal debt payments and helps settle the housing market crisis. It would also have other beneficial effects that would reverberate throughout the economy. It would also help to lower personal debt for many.
