SWMBO loves music. I I-tuned her cd collection many years ago, and keep it updated. She is 72, with early onset alzheimers, and can no longer figure out a PC. I put all the music on a 256g ipod touch, cord connected to a very basic receiver to play it through, but the ipod button is acting up. Are there products that will replace the ipod and be as simple to operate?

bluetooth is not an option, along with streaming or using her phone.

Thanks in advance

If she's used to an ipod touch, just get Another Ipod Touch.

Since stand alone music players essentially died, people forget how small they were. It was iPod nano sized, but cooler. Yet the last player i tried to buy last year was twice the size and weight of my last Zune. Oh, Microsoft, you can sink hardware like no one else. I still think about my Lumia, too.

ironically, my parents are in their late 70s and my dad just bought my mom a new subaru (IBLesbaru) he called me to ask if i knew how get her CDs onto some sort of media because her new car only had carplay or bluetooth.

i explained that she could just connect her iphone to it and listen to music. he said that was too complicated. I told him i would send them my spotify info and add them as member and he said no.

so i told him that he either needed to rip her music to a USB stick or just get an ipod touch and leave it in the car. magically, he did that with some off brand Mp3 player.

her music is Patsy Cline, Willy Nelson, Waylon Jennings, etc. that she has rotated through on a CD player since 1999.

ETA: when i was in college, my dad got an ipod nano and had 0 idea what to do with it so he gave it to me. i quickly learned napster and how to rip audio from youtube and filled that thing up in a couple of days.

update:

I got the new pc after lightening struck the old one, and i hooked up the external drive where all the itunes music resides. The apple support team moved me to apple music (essentially the new itunes), and after some work got apple music to synch with the old library. Then i opened the new-in-box 256 gig ipod touch, and with a little help from my support friends, it is now synching 17,000 songs. SWMBO is going to be thrilled that i got all of her music on a device that she knows how to operate. it's even the same shade of pink. thanks for the advice

Why not just replace the ipod?
