I just found my Scotty Cameron studio design 2 blade putter after years.

I have wondered what happened to it for probably 10 years now and when I moved my garage deep freeze there it was laying there. The bad part though was it’s bright yellow cover was laying right beside it so for years it has been laying back there without the head cover on it. Needless to say it has sone rough looking spots. Any tips on how to restore the gunmetal look to a little better condition than its currently in or should I just have it professionally done? Any other club and I wouldn’t care but I've never putted as well as I did with the blade Scotty. Thanks for any advice!

A few YT videos on restoring SC putters. I’d see if it matches what you’re trying to do. If not, then go professional route

You can send it off to Scotty’s custom shop, but it’s not cheap. I’d only recommend doing it if it has sentimental value or if it’s special model, like an old Napa or circle T. Otherwise, it’s really not worth it.
There are a lot of guys on social media who refinish them and I have no idea what they charge. I imagine it would be at least $200, but the custom shop would probably be $300+.

That’s awesome! What a great find. I bet it was a surprise to find something like that you thought was lost for years. Here’s to many good putts!

It does have sentimental value which is the main reason I want it restored. That and I can make putts with it like no other putter and Ive tried all types from Odyssey 2-ball to belly putters to broomstick putters (complete disaster).
Mainly though it’s the memories. I was fortunate enough to have Lee Trevino’s son as my golf coach from when I was about 11 until I graduated high school and started college. I still have my Ping ISI irons he fitted me for way back then in my storage closet but not the Scotty putter he ordered me and had cut down a considerable bit so my arms hang down and my body and eyes are over the ball. That short little Scotty made me more putts than I ever have in my life with every other putter combined.

Well you can definitely get it fixed like new. Grips are easy. There are multiple options for getting it refinished.
It's probably worthy of a new fancy headcover after all those years too.
Congrats on the find. Have fun with it.

Looks like it would be about $600 from the Scotty Custom shop.
$325 for the restoration
$85 shaft
$45 grip

Plenty of companies out there that restore Scotty's.
The Scotty Cameron Shop is outrageously expensive and you usually don't even get accepted for them to do it. If you just google Scotty Cameron putter restoration plenty of companies will pop up.
The Putter Lounge is one I've heard good things about. I think they are under $200 to restore. Plenty of color/finishes to choose from.
If you get on the Scotty Cameron facebook group and look there is one company that everyone recommends that I can't find. They do legit every finish out there and are also 1/3 of the cost of the Cameron Shop.

I had my Scotty refurbished at Schneider's Golf Mechanics. He did a great job and I think it cost $150. Had a lot of dings and paint was chipped, also replaced the grip.
