Bought two tickets and a suite at Monteleon for me and the ol' lady. Top five band from my middle and high school years. Thorn and Stevens is my favorite guitar duo of all time, and greatly influenced my playing.

Has anyone seen them with Travis Warren? Not much on Youtube. Obviously it won't be Hoon, just wondering what I'm in for. Tickets are still available and prices are dropping, maybe I'm a dupe for 90s nostalgia.

Side note - teenage me was in a packed car heading to NO when we heard the news on the radio. 'Twas heartbreaking.

If we make it through the show I'll report back.

I saw them years ago with Travis. The first album with Travis was released while they were in Baton Rouge, so I went to both the show at The Varsity and the acoustic show at Warehouse Music. It was good, but there is only one Shannon. Now there is no Brad, either. It's just a weird vibe for me, because the two of them were so much of the soul of the band.

It’s no blind melon

But if I was told I could catch a fantastic blind melon cover band on the cheap-ish I’d be fine enjoying my evening

When NO RAIN came over the car radio as I was escorting my mom and dad around town, my mom said of Shannon...
"He sounds like he's on helium." For some reason 30 years later I remembered that.

Just got home.
I really enjoyed the show. Travis is a good replacement singer, on the same wavelength as Shannon Hoon. Brad Smith, the bassist that wrote their best songs isn't with them any longer. But the two guitarists were spot on tonight.
Teenage dream for me to see them live. I was hoarse from singing along to all of their old songs.

Same, they burned that joint to the ground. Travis is about as good a replacement as you could ask for. We were on the upper level and had a great view, it was a good crowd but wasn't super packed. Fantastic experience last night.
