I saw the 'Roy Williams quote' post and I thought it was about the UNC coach. Here are a few to start the list:

Roy Williams
John Williams
Charles Alexander

There were two Kareem Abdul-Jabbars. Ironically, both played at UCLA. I am not sure if that counts though as they both changed their names and (I think) spelled them differently.

You're right. Sharmin Shah became Karim Abdul Jabbar and played for the Phins for a year or 2.

Do Eddie Robinson, Ken Norton, and Billy Cannon count?

By the way, the quarterback is Kurt Warner, and the Penn State/Seahawks RB is Curt Warner

I thought that might be the case, but I was too lazy to look it up before posting - Thanks.

I remember that. I was about 7 or 8 when he was at UCLA and remember being completely confused

That's probably why the TV analyst now goes by Jay Williams. It also sounds better (cooler) for him.
