The BLS just said the number of jobs reported for the 9 months ending December 2024 was likely overstated by ~800,000.
This comes as the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) data, covering 97% of employers, showed the US added 607,000 jobs during this period.
This is 57% lower than the initially reported 1.4 million in the monthly non-farm payroll (NFP) reports.
In other words, there was an unprecedented 793,000 gap between NFP data and QCEW data in March-December 2024.
This means jobs were likely overstated by 88,111 PER MONTH, on average, during this time.
Something does not add up here.

Maybe Im wrong, but seems I remember hearing this back then????? Or maybe I'm thinking about after every quarterly report, they'd come back and quietly say they overstated or understated different sectors of their economy report. Always to their favor, of course.

They played that entire game during the Biden Administration. Put out numbers that aren't too bad and revise down a few months later. Anyone with a brain saw that they were fudging the numbers.

So this means they inflated the numbers by a little more than 100%, huh? I mean, what the hell... If you're gonna lie about the actual amount of jobs, might as well make it a really big lie.
The Dems only saving grace for this debacle could be that they can claim the schools have failed them and they "can't math." But then again, that would fall back on their failed DoE. Looks like there's simply no way out of this one for them either.
