What’s with the Cardinals low attendance this season?

Even the 22 win Rockies are averaging more people per game.
St. Louis is not on pace for a 3 million fan season.
Yankees, Dodges, Cubs, Red Sox and Braves all in the top 10.
For such a storied franchise it doesn’t make sense.

Fans have been frustrated with ownership, and it boiled over this year.

This is 37,000 fans a game. Busch Stadium would have to be 80% full on average for them to hit 3M fans in a year.

Holy shite, you weren't lying. That literally read like a thesis that he was going to defend in front of the Dean at 10am on a Wednesday

Which had occurred every year since 2003...until last year. And again this year.
Mozeliak retiring end of season so maybe they'll spend some money this offseason versus cutting payroll again.

But the Cardinals have the best fans in baseball. Just ask them.

weird how so many places without the best fans in baseball can pull this off

That's the point, they had hit 3M+ fans for something like 25 straight years until last year. Unheard of for small market team and won't be seen again likely ever

brief:
Ownership gave the fans the middle finger, fans finally, after years of taking it, said, u know what, frick you.
It's shocking for the base to do it, in full force. they love their baseball, but like a battered wife, eventually you have to make it stop,
god bless all of them who told the team to stick it where the sun doesnt shine.
And those numbers are sold tickets, not butts in seats, I've watched some rockie games, if it was butts in seats, they would be lower 5 in attendance.

They do have the best fans in all of baseball. Not sure what the joke is about in this thread.

I think whether they really do or not is at least debatable, but that they absolutely believe that they are and will tell you so, is not.

For the 10 millionth time BFIB was started by MLB player polls at the end of the season where the PLAYERS THEMSELVES voted STL best fans year after year often in a landslide by double digits. This was like early into mid 2010s. I still have one of the polls saved somewhere.
Still amazing how upset it makes people a decade later. GOAT troll job.

Whatever a players poll is does not change the fact that the St. Louis fans absolutely believe they are and will absolutely tell you. That still is true. It doesn't really upset me, it's just who and what they are.

The fans absolutely loathe the GM

The Second Best Fans in Baseball finally told ownership to stick it. Good for them.
