Uh, a local design and engineering consulting firm got acquired by a bigger one?
I don't know that this necessarily results in more local jobs.

Definitely not “more” jobs. I’ve been through this exact thing before. Worked for a local, mid-sized engineering firm acquired by a much larger one. Here’s what’s going to happen:
The local admin staff (esp, accounting, HR) will be significantly reduced, if not outright eliminated. Eventually, the mid-level design professionals who thought they were on the partnership track will realize that goal is no longer realistic & they will leave. The overheard will increase, reducing project profitability & similarly year-end bonuses for the project managers. Then you’ll have another exodus. Westwood will acquire yet another firm & cram what’s left of that one and the same building. Within a few years, CSRS will be but a memory.
I held on for as long as I could after our acquisition, but eventually couldn’t stand working for the mega-firm.

I’ve known several who worked at CSRS. The divorces were never happy. Sounded like a total meat grinder over there and they made most of their money as middle men “program managers.”

Maybe we won't get so many shitty drainage design waivers approved in EBR now.
