Watched this last night, probably the best giallo film ever made. Brutal, gritty, colorful, and a great score. Highly recommend to anyone who likes thrillers.

I've seen several of Argento's films but never this one. Is the plot a variation on Phantom of the Opera, but with a lot more murders?

I don't know about best giallo but this is one of my favorites too. The eye thing is pretty cool. Ending was a bit weak on rewatch but I really like this type of setting for horror.

House with the Laughing Windows, the strange vice of Mrs. Wardh, stagefright, and the case of a scorpion’s tail have something to say about it being the best! As does deep red, but it certainly is a wonderful Giallo film.
