Looking for a safe location for a 7 & 13 year old to fish from roadside. Fresh or salt water. Preferably Reggio/Delacroix road area. Thank you for any info.

Grand isle, rather hwy 1 between Fourchon and Grand Isle. They’re several spots that have a fair amount of shoulder to be safe.

Thank you. I am considering that. But would rather a location with less traffic

Grand Bayou Rd in Port Sulphur
Civic Dr pier in Port Sulphur
Old Hwy 1 from Fourchon going back north towards where the old Leeville bridge used to be. Take a right when you get off the bridge at Fourchon. Minimal traffic on that stretch of Hwy 1

Those are all good spots. I'd also add at the end of the road next to campos in shell beach.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Hope we catch a few and plan on doing some crabbing.

I mean anywhere on side the road isn't really safe. Just recently had a death on fourchon due to a tire flying off a trailer.
Maybe island road down in pac.

Can you maybe avoid the roadside with the kids? There ae plenty of other more safe places to go fishing with kids.

Elmers Island Road is that place. Cars drive slow and there’s really not that many that come through there. Drive down the road til you see a big culvert on the right. I’ve caught some nice redfish hanging out there when the tide is coming in. You can drive down farther and fish some points on the right. I’ve caught at least one redfish every single time I’ve fished along that road. As with anything try to go on a weekday and there will be less people.
