When did Lafayette turn into Austin Texas

Lafayette MSA has about 500K people. About 20 of them are participating in that thread. You didn't realize that about 0.004% of the area (which includes hundreds of college faculty, thousands of students, and a 35% minority population) might be irrationally liberal?

And until shortly before then it hadn't elected a Republican since Reconstruction. Lafayette is not all of Louisiana, is it? It's the third largest city with the second largest university in the state. That tends to make it more liberal than other areas.

You're using a random, short Reddit thread to make a point that would have been much simpler if you'd stuck with the obvious "they elected a liberal M-P" in the first place.

Great initial response. I feel this way often when people make assumptions that an entire area is what 1 video of 1 person is like. There was a video of some a-hole dropping mento's into a 2 litre coke, then dropping it in the middle of a grocery store, it flew everywhere, poor underpaid staff will pick up the mess. Saw multiple videos of older people saying "UGherahrrr, the young generation is going to shite." I responded there are 80 million people in the US in this kid's generation. This kid makes up 00.000000125% of his generation. Or 1.25 x 10^-8 power. Basing an opinion on a mass population of over 1 million people based on 1 single person is just low IQ territory, but these people will never stop and actually think about this facet. Just blissfully ignorant, as long as it fits their bias then they are happy.
