We are 1 week away from the start of Big Brother 27.

It is rare that we have not had a thread at this point yet. I blame production consistently pushing "woke" propaganda and interfering with the natural balance that develops over a season.

Regardless of that, the show has been one of my favorites since the very first seasons way back in the early 2000s.

A sneak peek at this years house shows they have gotten rid of the "cold" sets of previous seasons for something more warm and inviting.

In addition to unexpected twists and turns, CBS said the season will include a "masked visitor, a secret accomplice and the shocking arrival of a "Mystery Houseguest” whose identity will remain under wraps … at least for now."

I haven't watched since the kid got shunned/kicked out for even questioning whether there was an all black alliance the very next season after an all black alliance ran the show. All things CBS have become insufferable and have even bled over into The Challenge.

Flip That... There was an All black alliance in 2022 i believe and then in 2023 he questioned whether there may be another one.

This. And the houseguests are now overly cautious about the cameras and seem to be there primarily to boost their social media presence. The fact that the feeds are "free" means that everything someone says is often blown out of proportion, causing outside people to overreact. It's made it difficult to be more than just a casual fan, but I still watch.

Social media has ruined everything.

I will say that there have still been some epic moments in the social media timeline.

Bayley breaking her tooth in anger

Anal lice

Rockstar's Daughter's Birthday

Muffingate

Kaitlyn not being able to put together a 5 piece puzzle (side note: i was a camp counselor at her summer camp way back in Summer 2006 and Summer 2007... Her little brother was an odd one, she was pretty weird too but in a hippie way)

BB2 - BB10 was the golden era of that show. It’s funny now because CBS went all in on the woke stuff, and since culturally woke by in large is dying, it’ll be funny to see the production stick to their laurels of a dying cultural movement.

It’s just insane that a show conceived as a trashy voyeuristic show decided to be holier than thou with its politics. The fan base has nobody but themselves to blame.

That's what I said. The kid asked the very next season and was ostracized.

My bad... I misread what you wrote. The way i read it said "The kid questioned and then the very next season it happened"

Same.

It started in Season 21 when they blindsided houseguests in finale by calling them all racists, then season 23 with the all black cookout alliance (that wasn't considered racist for some reason), and then labeling that kid as a racist in season 24 for questioning if there could be another all black alliance was my final straw.

Just assumed the show was no longer meant for me at that point.

Small quibble that he didn’t just question whether there was another cookout but also talked about forming an all white alliance.

But yea the cookout and Kyle’s fallout the next season ruined the show.

Doesn’t help that they’ve got a minority quota and refuse to cast more than one or two attractive women either.

But why would that be wrong (in the game of Big Brother) given that the opposite had just won the previous season? The only way to counter such an alliance would be to try and team up with all of the non-minorities.

Kyle was getting railroaded because there was no "evidence" of an alliance of all the minorities, but there was no evidence of the cookout's alliance in the previous season.

I saw nothing wrong at all with considering it as a possibility (within the game).

I just read up on some articles to refresh my memory and totally forgot about the house meeting where they all lectured Kyle and told him how hurtful and racist he was.

Yep. Twitter ruined the show and haven’t watched since after never missing an episode and watching all of BBOTT (Shelby the GOAT)

it was just a strategic game that played with human emotions, it was never supposed to be societal commentary with deeper meaning and people getting all butthurt…and once people realized they could be “cancelled” online by being on the show the entire experiment is over.

Glad I haven't watched this show devoutly since season 20 which was an all timer.

frick CBS and their George Floyd 50/50 white to minority casting.

As a Latino we make up 20% of the US. Blacks make up 13%. Asians about 6% and Whites about 58%. All others about 3%.

They Big Brother House should 100% follow those demographics.

The season of the cookout 6 of those people were black (out of 16) so 38%. Latinos had what maybe 1 and then the 8 Whites were fricking soyboys and girls.

fricking cast properly. Cast people based on the demographics of this nation. We don't need 7 LGBTQIZAWIAWHATEVERTHEfrick when only 9% of the nation identifies as such. It is absurd.

Also frick Taylor for winning over Monty the year after the cookout and her going I'm a black woman we've never won. Fake arse chick. She was INSUFFERABLE in that house but got the best edit ever along with that mega fussy Paul in season 18 and 19.

Yeah. Luckily the challenge stole their few good players and left the DEI ones alone this time. America, Sydney, and Dee are on the challenge 41.

Big Brother was good in the Dr Will days but it's hard for me watch this show now. I'll check out this season to see if it changed.

To be clear I didn’t think it was wrong. Just clarifying what the house freaked out about.

same. This and survivor went full DEI and woke.
I quit watching after Jeff pulled the "come on in, guys embarrassing stunt with LSU's Danny season.

Big brother is even worse.

There was also video footage of a black person from Kyle’s season pitching the idea of a cookout 2.0.

I can’t remember if it made it to show though.

Speaking more so of the push for gay winners. Season 40 they literally said they weren’t sending in Derek/Ryan because Rachel wanted her gays with her.

3 days away and we still don't have houseguests photos/info.

They officially move in tomorrow, so they have already been in sequester. I'm surprised CBS hasn't released anything yet.

It also looks like feeds aren't going to start until Sunday the 13th (9:30pm BBT). That's going to piss off some of the hardcore feeders.
