Regarding Queen, let’s say the truth out loud. This is Zions last season as a Pel.

Zion will be down to two years left on his deal after this season. I highly doubt anyone on this board expects him to extend. And the difference between trading him with two years of control vs as an expiring is astronomical. I think all expectations should be that “hopefully” Zion plays well this year and then is shopped next offseason.

So long term, Queen could make a ton of sense. Not as a tag team with Zion, but as a Zion replacement. Likely next to a PF that is long and can shoot. Or just Trey Murphy if he rebounds a little better.

We saw what Zion can do and be a top
25 player when healthy. We all know JD doesn’t deal with bs. So hopefully he can get through him unlike Griffin. I’m still rooting for him as long he’s a Pelican. Queen and Zion can coexist just like AD and Cousins.

Isn't being paired with zion a guarantee to start at least 30 + games a year?

We need to trade Zion. I have felt this way since the beginning of last season. I want off this ride. I'm done hoping that he will be in shape. I'm done hoping that he will be healthy. I'm done defending him. You can't "team build" around a guy who is unreliable. When he plays, he makes be laugh out loud at how awesome he is. He's so fun to watch. But enough is enough.

If we trade him and he ends up "getting it together" in another city, so be it. You can't let this fear drive you. It is worth the 2026 unprotected pick if Queen's presence accelerates Zion's departure. Ha!
