Looking to get a project boat for me and my son. See some good deals on FB marketplace but most of them don’t have papers. Just boat and trailer, no motor. What’s required to get it registered and is it worth it or just find one with papers?

Work a justice of the peace form using this link.

If the seller wont do this, walk away it will (almost) never become a legal vessel.

Be sure the trailer has a visible VIN on it.... otherwise you won't be able to do much with it.

Been trying for months. I’ll never do it again. Of course my parish is like a Third World country so that doesn’t help.

It's not worth the hassle. My sanity is worth more than the $1000 bucks I might save. Buy one with a trailer title and a legit registration.

Thanks fellas. I was leaning towards getting one with title/reg already.
