I’m sure a bunch here have been to the zoo while in Omaha. How much of it is covered by that big glass dome? Sunscreen necessary or no?

The dome is not a huge portion of it.
Kids will need sun screen, especially layers in the day or if they want to go to splash pad.
Adults are fine with a hat.

Make sure you walk over to the Rosenblatt park which is right there.

We went for their night at the zoo thing last night, but it starts at 6:30 and it was HOT. The dome part is only a small fraction and yes, bring sunscreen.

First place I go once I get into town. Sucks that it’s a parking lot now but I love how they pay homage to the history

The dome is one of maybe 15 sections of the zoo. But the whole thing is obnoxiously hot. Hydrate and have fun. It’s really a cool zoo for adults and kids.

Henry Doorly is great. Lived in Omaha from 9-16yrs old, kids might also like the slides downtown

But if it’s hot, maybe not. The slides get wicked hot

Went yesterday. First time for us and we had a good time. Very hot so make sure to hydrate. Really does hold up to the best zoo in the US. Good luck and Geaux Tigers!
