This writer has LSU in as an 11 seed winning the SEC West. Also says they will be one of the last teams to make it.

It all depends on what our record is against UT, UF and UK. We go 0-3 and we are looking at #11 and barely getting in even with an SEC West crown. Of course, a solid SEC tourney run (semifinals or higher) could get us past all that.

All that is still up in the air. No doubt that if we win West and a game in conf tourn we will be a 7 or better. Generally such a finish would mean a higher seed.

that seems about right for now.
we aren't going to sniff a 5 or 7 seed like some of you are hoping unless we go on a serious run. The SEC is AWFUL this year, and our seeding will reflect that as the RPI is very important in seeding. Our current RPI is in the 70's b/c of the weak SEC. not good at all.

Winning the West may not help the Seeding if no other teams from the West gets invited. The West is pretty weak. Ole Miss beating UK last night did help.
FWIW: Mike Slive (SEC Commish) is the Chairman this year. That may help LSU if they are on the bubble.

Forde on ESPN says no one from the SEC West will get in and he doesn't even mention LSU as a possibility. Good motivational material.

At most you'd have to have 2 losses the rest of the way to get a 5 (and even that may be pushing it). 3 (maybe even 2) losses or more, you have no chance at a 5, even if you win the SEC Tourney.
