I've got my wife and 10 year old. We fly in Thursday to Tampa and fly back Sunday out of Tampa. The times work out better than MCO and I loathe MCO more than any other airport I have ever been in. I much prefer Tampa. We have an event we are at all day Saturday in Orlando. We really only have 1 day to do anything but I want to do something different with the 10 year old. He has been to all of Disney and Universal (not the new Epic stuff). He has been to Legoland. Is there anything between Tampa and Orlando that someone recommends for a 10 year old? It can be theme parkish or not.

Discovery Cove would be a good option

Busch Gardens and Howl'O'Scream would be good to check out. You could also drive to St. Pete and see the Dali museum which is world class as well.

St. Pete also has the Chihuly museum and the Holocaust Museum. Clearwater has Mote Marine Aquarium.. There is also a Dinosaur park in Polk county right off I4. Stop in Plant city at the Strawberry stand for the largest Strawberry shortcake you have ever had.
