I was wondering if anyone has ever smoked a prime rib? Or does anyone have a simple recipe for dummies for loaded baked potato salad?

I know I can go to HEB for the salad, but I just wanted to see how good it would be if I made it.

This will be either for the 4th of July or possibly Juneteenth, if I am not part of the skeleton crew

My Dad would buy a prime rib roast when on sale and smoke it. He would cut it thin like roast beef and make sandwiches out of it.

It was delicious.

Heck yeah, absolutely delicious. Or, oven bake for the first meal and low heat smoked leftovers is an option. Have done this with pork rib roasts too. Pork is more forgiving.

Not exactly sure what you’re thinking for that but most things are better and cheaper homemade. Smoked potatoes are a thing if you’re not also smoking the meat. Both smoked is overkill. Smoked mashed potatoes and smacked potato salad rock.

McGuire's in Destin/Pcola makes a delicious smoked prime rib.
