What do you think it would take for LSU Track and Field to get back to where it was when Pat Henry was coaching besides bringing back Henry from TAM.
Seems like Dennis Shaver's teams have fallen off over the last 5 or so years for team contention. We have individual greatness and some good relay teams that win but overall not competing for several years with Arkansas, TAM, Texas, Florida for team titles. May just me my perception but seems that way?

TERRIBLE HIRE - look at the history of the program before he was hired.
In his 21 years as HC, he has won 3 titles in the 84 chances - 3. The first was with the women and the previous 2 seasons that team won 3/4 so they were Henry’s kids. He won one in 2008 (women) and had another stripped in 2012 (women). The men won a title the season Boo returned and coached jumps with Harrison. They had him as a strength coach or something but we know who was coaching jumps.

Shaver is TERRIBLE and has run the program into the ground.

Replace Coach Dennis 'Miles Mainieri' Shaver with a proven winner or someone from a perennial winning program.

it will take getting rid of DS. Henry left, and went to a place that invests in their T&F program/facilities. Leroy Burrell has quickly made Auburn a national contender over the past couple of years. Only 6 pts behind atm/USC, last night, and didn’t have a 4x4 relay. LSU needs to make a change.

He did a good job for a long time but it’s time for a change.

The men and women have their best sprinters out for the season. You’re talking about multiple points left on the table in the 100/200 and 4x100 anchor. They’d be top 10 with them.

Defend please. Good job wouldn’t be running it to the ground. Look at the last 2 seasons of Henry. And Shavers first year. Boo won that 2019 title.
There is no defending him

Pat Henry doesn’t even dominate like he used to with some of the best facilities in the country. The majority of the titles Henry won at A&M were in his earlier seasons.

Shaver routinely has the programs finish in the top 5. You’re an idiot if you think we could fire shaver for being a top 10 program.

But yes things have gotten stale the last few seasons and I agree the program didn’t elevate for awhile until Boo came back to the program. We’ll see if anything changes.

They literally finished sixth last season

I agree with you that change needs to happen so I’m done with this. But he’s not remotely as bad of a coach as you’re making him out to be and the countless top 10 finishes confirm that.

Top 10 was never good enough when you won 3/4 titles the 2 seasons before he took over.
17 years since the last Women’s title and 2004 before then. Travesty
