Trying to split up the ride to Clemson for the game and stopping in Auburn for the evening before heading back to Clemson to go to the game. Any particular spots to look out for in both? Auburn will be dinner and Clemson will be an early lunch.

For Auburn, Acre, The Hound, The Depot, Lucy's, Botanic (Opelika) are really good. Acre and Botanic are a little more difficult to get into.

The Hound is usually my go to for really solid, casual spot. No frills, but food is good, drinks are good, and never leave disappointed.

Acre seems more popular but I've always preferred The Depot or The Hound. They just fit my pallet better. I've never been to the Botanic.

The Depot is more seafood centric. The Spicy blue crab dip is the best thing on the planet. I love getting a flight of oysters there to compare all the different oysters they have on hand that day.

Fresh hot pork skins from The Hound is a must.

Botanic is definitely worth checking out at some point. Really cool date spot. It is a botanical garden & greenhouse that they've put in a market/cafe, couple bars, and a more upscale restaurant in. Atmospehre is awesome and I really enjoyed the food. May be a bit more of an endeavor for someone just driving through, but figured I'd add it anyways.

And I agree, I tend to go to Depot more than Acre, partially because its just a little easier to get a table with less planning. I think Acre is "better" technically speaking, but not by a wide margin. It definitely gets the social media adoration that probably overhypes it some.

Clemson itself is small, but Pixie and Bill’s makes a great steak, and Rick Erwin’s is a nice place. If you don’t mind heading over to Pendleton, though, the Smokin Pig is fun. It’s set up like an ice house in central Texas, so you don’t have to sit in one spot if you have to wait for a table. You can grab a drink and play cornhole or sit in the shade. My son says Roar Clemson is a new place that they like, but I haven’t been.

Botanic is head and shoulders above anything else in Auburn. It’s really good. Also, Stak’s for breakfast. Also really good.

I once asked on here for a place in Clemson where the local fans go, and the Esso Club was the solid recommendation. Neat old bar/restaurant within sight of the stadium that is full of memorabilia and sells burgers and meat and three plates with tons of vegetables/ sides to choose from.

It’s popular as hell. We had to park down the highway for lunch on a random weekday even though school was out.
