Former NCAA 1500m record holder Eliud Kipsang dies at 28

Eliud Kipsang, the former NCAA 1500m Record Holder, died on Monday following a cardiac arrest.
In 2022, Kipsang set the NCAA 1500m Record with his 3:33.74 at the Bryan Clay Invitational. In 2021, Kipsang was the NCAA DI Indoor Mile Runner-Up and the Outdoor 1500m East Region Champion. He secured a fourth place finish at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championship.
He recently signed a professional contract with adidas.
Kipsang suffered cardiac arrest on Friday, June 6 according to a Go Fund Me set to support Kipsang's repatriation and funeral expenses;
"On Friday, June 6th, 2025, Eliud suffered suffered cardiac arrest and was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, WA, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU). Despite the tireless efforts of doctors and nurses, he tragically passed away on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025."
From Eldoret, Kenya, Kipsang enjoyed a standout career while at the University of Alabama. He was an SEC Champion and after his fourth place finish at the 2021 NCAA Championships, he competed at the Kenya Olympic Trials.

Nothing to see here, high performing young athletes die all the time from cardiac arrest.

Do you even know who that was and why relevant to discussions on if the vax is the only reason someone like Kipsang might die of cardiac arrest for no real explained reason?

Damn. I forgot about Ryan Shay.
I’m against a healthy person taking the Covid vax, and absolutely against any mandate. But some people don’t realize that this exact thing HAS happened on the past to some of the best distance runners in the world.
