Will be staying just north of the Frisco area & looking for a good place to play. I'm sure there are tons of options...probably would like to keep it at $100 or less if possible.

Anyone familiar with The Bridges Golf Club or Oak Hollow?

I don't know how far you want to travel but Pecan Hollow in Plano, less than 30min from Frisco, was great. Its a public course under $50. The greens were fantastic when we played there last year. If you watch any YouTube golf and know who Good Good is, they have played there many times.

About 35min from Frisco is Steven's Park. A muni in Dallas, it was awesome as well, there's a couple holes where you see the skyline of Dallas. Its around $50 as well.

Grapevine Golf Course is about 30min away, it's a 27 hole course that's good as well, about $60.

They were all good but if I had to pick one, I'd pick Steven's. Its a cool track with some quirky green complexes and the skyline views were pretty cool.
Hope this helps and enjoy your round.

Frisco resident here. The Bridges is a nice track, unfortunately 2 golfers got struck by lightning on Sunday where 1 died. Check out Frisco Lakes ($75), beautiful course but #7 is a beiotch.

I'd play Tenison Highlands if we are talking Dallas munis, but if he's in Frisco, I'm not sure it's worth driving to South Dallas with all the courses that are up north.

The Tribute was a cool course, it was around $100 on a weekend. Each hole is a replica of a Scottish course hole. They also have a second course (Old American) which I have not played but is replicas of Northeast America holes.

If you don’t mind the drive, go to Muenster and play Turtle Hill. This course is inexpensive to play but not cheap. It has great elevation changes and you don’t feel like you’re in Texas. Now it doesn’t have a cart girl or a bar, but take a cooler and enjoy a great round of golf.
The Bridges is my home course and is very nice right now as well. Be aware that the wind will kill you there and no shade to speak of, but the have a full restaurant, bar, cart girl and driving range.

Never thought I'd see that mentioned here. I haven't been out there in a few years, but it was not in great shape when I did play. I still really enjoyed the round though. The property itself, along the Red River and rolling hills, is gorgeous though. I'm from a small town not far from Muenster.

I'd add Westridge Golf Course to the list. It is in you price range especially on weekdays. Interesting course in that it has 6 par threes, 6 par fours and 6 par fives. Holes number one is a good starting hole. It has a wide fairway with some undulation. Hole number 11 is a par 5 that has a creek that runs across the fairway that you may have to lay up on if you are a big hitter and playing from the proper tees. But. the second shot must be kept to the left because the fairway slopes back towards the water.

I played Frisco Lakes yesterday. They punched and top dressed the greens about 10 days ago. Putting, while not terrible, was a challenge as some tended to hop or get knocked slightly offline. Greens should be fine in a week or two. The course has spent a lot of money this spring replacing a lot of fairway sod. With the rain we've had lately and the warmer weather the new sod has taken nicely. The same rain has made some of the bunkers and traps unplayable. The grounds keepers were working on repairing them. Our group played free relief from all traps and bunkers.

The Bridges would also be on my list.

I’ve never played up that way. Is it worth the 45 minute drive from north Dallas?

As mentioned, Grapevine and Pecan Hollow are great courses in this price range.

I third Westridge. It is the sister course to Frisco Lakes, Woodbridge and Bridlewood. The owners invest a lot into these courses.

Bridges is a fun course. Doesn’t feel like you’re stuck in the burbs.

I play Lakes weekly and just joined there. Fun course.
