I waited until LSU won to look for a hotel but I've not had any luck finding one priced decent in a good location. Chances more open up closer to time?

What do you consider decent?

Dave was looking for a hotel earlier. You might go in on one with him.

For future reference, you can prebook hotel long before when rates aren't as bad, and just cancel the reservation if LSU doesn't make it. Some brands have lower discounted rates now, but caveat being nonrefundable, once you're 100% sure you're going. Marriott, IHG, Hilton, Hyatt, and Choice. Hunt around, and don't be skittish of booking last minute b/c losing teams fans sometime bail early and when they leave, rooms open up/rates change. Good luck.

Some will open up. First weekend is a bit harder because all the teams and fans are there. You should be able to get something in $300-$400 range in West Omaha area, which is around 20 minute drive to the stadium. You wont get anything in the stadium area or downtown for your price point.

When we make the finals, there will be more rooms available as the other fans leave. In 23 I got a West Omaha hotel room for $250 a night. I booked it on the day of game 1.

Looks like you can find rooms for just over $100/night in Blair, which is about 30-35 minutes north of the stadium. Otherwise, you can pay $230+ for a room in West Omaha and LaVista, which are about 20 minutes west of the stadium. Also looks to be some in Glenwood, IA which is about 40 minutes south of the stadium - straight shot down I-29. Any of those would be safe to stay at.

Comfort Suites in West Omaha (2500 S 192nd Ave, Omaha, NE, 68130) is $250/night with a free breakfast. 30 minute drive to the stadium. Great area.

I’m looking in a radius of 30 minutes from Omaha, and have found many in the $100-$150 range.
