Record turnout for DC Bar election, shows Washington lawyers are 95 percent democrats.

Brad Bondi, the brother of Attorney General Pam Bondi, overwhelmingly lost his bid to lead the D.C. Bar Association in a race with record turnout, the organization announced Monday.
Bondi, who is global co-chair of the law firm Paul Hastings’s investigations and white-collar defense practice, earned just 3,490 votes, or 9.1 percent, in the D.C. Bar’s presidential election. His opponent, employment lawyer Diane Seltzer, won 34,982 votes, or 90.9 percent.

They are filth like our very own VOR and SFP. We love SFP but he has been a disappointment lately.

I bet it’s not really 95%, probably more like 80, but that 15% doesn’t even bother with DC Bar activities. Congress is usually 50/50 between the two parties and a lot of those lawyers are lobbyist.
I’m shocked that 5% even shows up.

No one is allowed in the club unless you play ball.
Don't act like you don't know.

I can kinda speak to this since I am a member of the DC bar but have never voted in an bar election outside the three states I predominately practice in.
DC has one of the widest geographic dispersions of members simply because it is DC and many lawyers are members but live and mainly practice in other jurisdictions, which is why it is one of the largest bar associations in the US.
I have a bunch of partners that voted this time and had never voted before. They are predominately Rs for two reasons:
1. they make 1% money and historically Republicans have been best for their wallet
2. most of our clients are large businesses and traditionally Rs have been more pro-big business
That being said they all voted for Seltzer even though her firm is a plaintiff's employment law firm not for any red vs blue issue but just a message regarding the administration fricking with law firms. NRA v Vullo will take care of the issue in judicial time, and it is particularly useful due to being a fresh unanimous ruling by the current seated court, but a lot of people felt like sending a message now.
Had I voted (separate from the above issues) not having delved into their platforms I would probably have voted for Bondi who is a Big Law white-collar defence specialist and he likely would have won a DC bar election because he is a member of the fraternity most high powered DC firms make up. He was likely collateral damage in a fight that will see a lot of collateral damage.
