Anyone watch Tasting history with Max Miller on YouTube?

Yep, misread your question. Townsend has some good videos. His method of making "buttered eggs," albeit in the kitchen and with modern utensils, is quite tasty. I've made a few of his recipes, including baked onion, which is the simplest recipe ever, but is also tasty.
