I disagree with about 95% of what is on Reddit. The race pandering they use and comments that I know full well they don't believe, but it gets the most upvotes is like reading a DEI officer at a Fortune 500 company. Just regurgitated lines that no one believes, but everyone has to pretend to go along with so they don't get fired or in trouble.
An example would be the very constant question on why culture ranks last in most stats including income in US. The number 1 upvoted answer regardless of post is discrimination and being held down. It is always that. Always. Yet the GDP per Capita of Niger, Nigeria, Liberia, CA Republic, DR Congo, Burundi, Ghana, Chad, Mozambique, Sudan, Malawi, Somalia, Sierra Leone, Mali... all of those countries, every single one has a GDP per capita of under $999 per year. Most are at $500 per year. Culture GDP per capita is $55,000 in US. So around 100x or 10,000% higher than those countries aformentioned. The data suggests that this was a vast help today. Not in 1800, but today, very much so benefiting from being in the US. By an exponential amount, 2 degrees of exponential. How does one draw the conclusion that ancestors 10 lineage ago are making $500 GDP per Capita today, but the group separated is making $55,000 GDP per Capita today, and that is being discriminated and held down somehow? Makes 0 sense and is by very clear, distinct data, not remotely correct.

At least this side is the counterculture now and has fun with it. They're just soulless, humorless, and lifeless. One of the most interesting things of the last half century is how the counterculture changed sides.

i understand this is the story the cultural right wants to tell itself, but it’s just not true.
i’m also struggling with how you can control all 3 branches and be “counterculture”
