That tough series with AR- Little Rock is what the Tigers needed.

I'd rather see them face some adversity early on than run into it at a Super- Regional or in Omaha.

I’m just glad that Auburn has to deal with that Coastal Carolina buzz saw this year in the Supers

Coastal Carolina is going to smoke Auburn I think. WVU is an extremely scrappy team LSU better play all phases of the game. Going to be fun to watch.

Most definitely. WVU puts pressure on a defense on the base paths just like Kentucky. Thankfully this is a great LSU fielding team.

I agree. This team needed to be pushed and forced to respond. We’ve seen too much folding under adversity, especially from pitchers. Too many guys stuck in ruts, like Jones and Braswell. Too much lack of focus and guessing at the plate.

We needed some leadership and some guys really stepped up and provided it. Frey was first, as really the only bat working well early in the game. He came through huge twice. Then Evans drew a line in the sand and just said NO. And then the team followed. Hernandez. Then Jones at the end to top it off.

Who knows if it will carry over, but this seems like the best thing that could have happened to get the team playing closer to its best in the Supers and hopefully in Omaha.

Do you think today's players work as hard as the Skippers players did? Or do they suffer from entitlement?

If memory serves, it was after the loss to Omaha that they went on a 17 game streak. Had a lot to do with the competition, sure, but the bats didn’t lose focus for quite some time in that streak.

Now that the pitching is improved, this team can be legit if they put it all together. It’s that time of year. They also showed the ability to rally, which is going to be crucial in tight games.

Having just faced a scrappy team in LR, I think it brought out some extra fight in our guys. I hope that can carry over to this weekend.
