Wondering if anyone had a recommendation for lodging in Gardiner? We plan on being there in early September for 3 nights.

Obviously taking in Yellowstone...anything a can't miss using Gardiner as home base? First time visitor so any information would be appreciated.

Just got back, stayed at the Roosevelt hotel, nice room very comfortable, 5 minutes from the north gate, town is very small so anywhere you stay will be very close

Ahhh Gardiner Montana. Spent the summer working for the park back in the mid 90s. I was a senior in college and those few months changed my life. Went to Bozeman last fall for a long weekend and made the drive down one afternoon just to grab a couple of beers. So much has changed in that little town but it still much the same. So I can’t really help you for lodging reccos but have a great time!

We spent the night at Yellowstone Village Inn last year. Nice clean family run hotel.

Sage Lodge in Pray, MT is just up the road, and would by my pick if it were just my wife and I.They have a great restaurant and a nice outdoor lounge area.

We did not stay there as a party of 7, but we visited for dinner one evening. Everything seemed top notch.

If you have a larger group, there are some nice VRBO rentals on the East side of the Yellowstone river near Emmigrant. It’s a little further drive, but worth it. We watched mule deer, whitetails, and black bears daily while we drank coffee from the deck in the mornings and cocktailed in the evenings.

Sage lodge will only cost you an average of $1k a night just for the room. Any of the hotels in gardiner will do. You’ll be there minimal time.
